A St. Helena man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of domestic
violence after St. Helena police responded to a report of suspected
domestic violence from St. Helena Hospital, Police Chief Michael
Johnstone said.
St. Helena’s Silverado Brewing Company was awarded a
CoolCalifornia Small Business Award at a California Air Resources
Board ceremony held earlier this month. The microbrewery and
restaurant replaced its lamps with energy-efficient lighting,
insulated all hot water pipes, increased its recycling and
purchased fewer toxic cleaning solvents. Silverado Brewing also
serves organic and sustainable food.
This year’s St. Helena High School students selected to attend Rotary’s Camp RYLA at Westminster Woods in Occidental are soon-to-be seniors Ian McCaffrey and Kristina Ericson. The camp, held the third week in June, offers a program of discussions, inspirational addresses, leadership training and social activities designed to enhance personal development, leadership skills and good citizenship. The scholarships are provided to young men and women heading into their senior year who have exhibited over-all leadership qualities through well-rounded endeavors both in and out of their school and community environment. teams competed in the conference championships this weekend and had
many impressive finishes.
